What Is Scrip?
Scrip is a term that means "substitute money".  When you purchase scrip, you're purchasing negotiable gift certificates and prepaid cards that are used just like cash. You can use scrip to purchase everyday expenses like food, clothing, and other essentials, and with every purchase, you earn revenue for our organization.  Scrip is "shopping cart fundraising"
Scrip is a popular fundraiser because families don't have to sell anything.  Organization members produce revenue by making regular household purchases they would make anyway.  Groceries, clothing, toys, gifts, even gasoline can be purchased with scrip. Put your shopping dollars to work for Friess Lake School!  Please see the Scrip link!
Box Tops Competition
The Box Tops competition has begun!  Grades K-5 will compete against each other to collect the most Box Tops by grade for a March pizza party. Please collect and send in your Box Tops with your students. Each classroom has a special Box Tops box which they can place their Box Tops in for their class. The middle school students can either give their box tops to their "buddy" to help their class or they can place them in the drop off box in the office. We will be collecting box tops and updating the class standings at the end of each month.

Here are the current standings in the Box Tops Competition:
Kindergarten- 173
1st Grade- 635
2nd Grade- 1503
3rd Grade- 980
4th Grade- 921
5th Grade- 1547

The next Box Tops/Campbell's Label/Milk Cap/pure life Pickup will be October 19th!
Remember, Box Tops offer ways to earn cash for our school through everyday purchases-- all at no additional cost to you. Clip Box Tops from hundreds of participating products. Box Tops are worth 10 cents each. Check on our progress throughout the year by visiting boxtops4educaton.com. Last year, Friess Lake School collected $2,000 in Box Tops for our school! Spread the word, if everyone helps, we can earn more cash for our school than ever before. Good Luck!
Poinsettia Plant Sale
The Friess Lake Band & Chorus students are selling poinsettias for the holiday season. We will be
taking orders for these through Wednesday, November 11th.  The plants will be available for "pick-up" at school on Tuesday, December 1st from 3:00-5:30 in the commons.

We will be offering the poinsettias in 5 different colors. The colors are red, white, pink, marble(reddish pink, with white edged leaves) and jingle bells(red, with pink spots on the leaves).  Each plant comes in a 6 1/2"
pot and is approximately 15-18" tall(from the bottom of the pot to the top of the plant). Each plant has 5
or more blooms and it comes in a decorative foil for the holidays. The cost of each plant is $13.50. This is the same price as last year.

If you or any of your friends or relatives would like to order poinsettias for the holiday season, you may place your order with any band or chorus student, or you may fill out the order form and return it to the school office.
Each student will receive an order form. Please place your order in an envelope marked, Poinsettia Sale.

Deadline to order is November 11th.
Please enclose your payment with your order and make checks payable to "Friess Lake School".

If you have any questions, please call Mrs. Colburn or the school office at 628-2380.

Thank you,  The Friess Lake Band & Chorus students
Market Day
Dessert Bonus Days are back! When you purchase Market Day desserts, you can help our Friess Lake School earn extra profit.  You'll also receive a FREE 12 oz bag of coffee with the purchase of 3 desserts. Simply place your order online at marketday.com- it's that easy!

We have about 200 hundred families here at Friess Lake school. If every family buys just ONE pie, we would make $350.00 dollars!  If we all bought two, it would be $1100.00!! That is a lot for our kids. Come on and help!
