Destiny
- Our New Library Automated Card Catalog
System
Friess Lake recently
purchased new library
automation software. The Library Card
Catalog link is on our Friess Lake home page in
Family Resources and Student Resources. When
it opens, click the Friess Lake
School Library link, and then click the
Catalog tab at the top left. The program is
web based, enabling the same program to be used at
school and at home. This same program is in
place at HUHS.
We have also purchased an
additional feature which allows us access to
thousands of pre-approved web sites. When a
search for library materials is put
into motion, age appropriate, pre-approved
web sites are also generated as
results.
The decision to purchase
new software has been a progressive
decision. About three years ago, our library
software was sold to another company. With
the sale, came the statement that there would be
no future upgrades, and thus, we anticipated
replacement of our old system at some point.
Recently, we have experienced some software
problems, which prompted the purchase of
Destiny. |
